This pine block parquet floor was a delightful surprise discovered beneath a carpet in a property in Aylesbury nr Grimsby, Lincolnshire. Our clients were thrilled to learn that we could restore and refinish the floor.
The parquet extended throughout the ground floor and was in a worn, aged condition. We carefully sanded the floor multiple times, using progressively finer grits to remove the old finish, dirt, and damage.
After sanding, we polished the parquet blocks to a smooth finish, preparing them for the hardwax oil finish.
In one of the finished photos, you'll notice a darker area. This was caused by a leak from the kitchen sink over the years. While sanding can remove most contaminants, deep-seated stains within the parquet blocks may remain visible. In this case, the patch wasn't a concern as the kitchen would be reinstalled over the affected area.
