In the photos below, show the typical condition of a Georgian / Victorian floor after the carpets have been lifted. It's common to find black paint around the edge of rooms in a Victorian or period property, or in this case the whole floor. This paint is tar based and was used to finish the edge of the room around a centrally placed carpet. We have specialist equipment to remove the tar and bring your floors back to a beautiful finish.
